1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Find the Brick mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by FindTheBrick ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@findthebrick.app.

3. Description of the Service

Find the Brick is a mobile application that helps users identify LEGO® bricks and related parts using your device's camera and on-device machine learning technology.

Important: Identification results are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. We do not guarantee that every identification will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for verifying results before relying on them.

4. Account Registration and Security

To use certain features, you must sign in using Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information associated with your Google account
  • Maintain the security of your Google account credentials
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code, models, or algorithms from the Service, except where permitted by mandatory law
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without our prior written consent
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity
  • Upload, transmit, or otherwise make available content that is harmful, abusive, or infringes third-party rights

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

6. Camera Use and On-Device Processing

The Service uses your device camera to analyze bricks in real time. Image processing for identification is performed on your device. We do not upload camera frames or photos to our servers for brick identification.

Local data such as search statistics and app preferences may be stored on your device. For details on what data we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and on-device models, is owned by FindTheBrick or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

8. LEGO® Trademark Disclaimer

Find the Brick is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by the LEGO Group.

LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this application. All LEGO® brick and part names, images, and related trademarks are the property of the LEGO Group or its licensors. References to LEGO products in the Service are for identification purposes only.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates third-party services, including but not limited to:

  • Google / Firebase (authentication, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)

Your use of those services may be subject to the third parties' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

10. Advertising

The Service is supported by advertising. Ads may be displayed through Google AdMob, including banner ads, interstitial ads, and app open ads.

Where required by law (including in the European Economic Area), we request your consent before showing personalized advertising. You can manage your advertising and privacy preferences through the Service settings and your device settings.

11. Privacy and Your Choices

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

You can manage certain preferences within the app, including:

  • Analytics sharing
  • Crash report sharing
  • Marketing email preferences

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Account deletion removes your Firebase authentication account and associated user data stored in our cloud database, subject to any legal retention requirements.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Identification results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
  • Defects will be corrected

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FINDTHEBRICK AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED EUR 50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS CURRENTLY OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO EUR 50 WHERE PERMITTED BY LAW.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

14. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account through the in-app settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence grant you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
